God’s Warning To Pastors, Ministers, And Church Leaders

God has given very strong warnings to all pastors, ministers and church leaders who claim to be ‘called’ by God and yet do not preach and teach members of their congregations according to God’s will and His word – the Bible.

Ministers and leaders are meant to be faithful and true to the whole Bible in what they preach and teach.

Sadly though, many see church ministry as an easy way to say what they want, and line their own pockets with ‘tithes’ and offerings. Such ministers are only in it for their own egos and to make money.

Such ministers will be judged by God extremely harshly.

Listen to what God says:

“For false messiahs and false prophets will rise up and perform great signs and wonders so as to deceive, if possible, even God’s chosen ones. See, I have warned you about this ahead of time.” (Matthew 24:24-25 NLT)

“Dear brothers and sisters, not many of you should become teachers in the church, for we who teach will be judged more strictly.” (James 3:1 NLT)

“The words of a priest’s lips should preserve knowledge of God, and people should go to him for instruction, for the priest is the messenger of the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. But you priests have left God’s paths. Your instructions have caused many to stumble into sin. You have corrupted the covenant I made with the Levites,” says the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. “So I have made you despised and humiliated in the eyes of all the people. For you have not obeyed me but have shown favouritism in the way you carry out my instructions.” (Malachi 2:7-9 NLT)

“What sorrow awaits the leaders of my people—the shepherds of my sheep—for they have destroyed and scattered the very ones they were expected to care for,” says the Lord.
Therefore, this is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says to these shepherds: “Instead of caring for my flock and leading them to safety, you have deserted them and driven them to destruction. Now I will pour out judgment on you for the evil you have done to them. But I will gather together the remnant of my flock from the countries where I have driven them. I will bring them back to their own sheepfold, and they will be fruitful and increase in number. Then I will appoint responsible shepherds who will care for them, and they will never be afraid again. Not a single one will be lost or missing. I, the Lord, have spoken!” (Jeremiah 23:1-4 NLT)

“My people have been lost sheep. Their shepherds have led them astray and turned them loose in the mountains. They have lost their way and can’t remember how to get back to the sheepfold.
All who found them devoured them.” Jeremiah 50:6-7a NLT)

If you believe that God has honestly called you into the ministry as a leader then make sure to be faithful to God’s Word.

And that means confront evil in all you preach and teach and build the members of your congregations up in their faith – and do not lead people astray by your words.
