Preaching Engagements:

It has been my humble privilege to have been a visiting preacher in many churches in almost all denominations. And the message I bring is one of hope because only Jesus is our hope. Without Jesus a sermon is reduced to just another motivational self-help speech.

And the reality is that if humanity could really help ourselves then Jesus died for nothing.

Charles Spurgeon once said: "The backbone of the preaching of Christ is a conviction of the truth of Christ. A Christ-centered message is the only message that the apostles ever preached. A Christ-less sermon is reduced to a chat session. ......Leave Christ out of the preaching and you shall do nothing ......A sermon without Christ as its beginning, middle, and end is a mistake in conception and a crime in execution. However grand the language it will be merely much-ado-about-nothing if Christ be not there. And I mean by Christ not merely his example and the ethical precepts of his teaching, but his atoning blood, his wondrous satisfaction made for human sin, and the grand doctrine of believe and live."

I love what the Apostle Paul said: "For I resolved to know nothing while I was with you except Jesus Christ and Him crucified." (1 Corinthians 2:2)

He went on to further explain that "My message and my preaching were not with wise and persuasive words, but with a demonstration of the Spirit's power, so that your faith might not rest on human wisdom, but on God's power." (1 Corinthians 2:5)

And that is how I seek to bring God's Word, with a demonstration of the reality and faithfulness of God as shown by the Holy Spirit's moving by His gifts.

For God will not anoint what is not of Him and His Word. It is only then that you witness the biggest miracle of all - changed lives. People's lives being transformed from the old sinful nature into a new creation in Jesus. So when I preach I do so with a belief, an expectation, of changed lives through salvations, healings and deliverances.
