Grace is always mentioned wrongly by many who just want to do what they like.
The Bible speaks of grace quite differently: “For the grace of God has appeared that offers salvation to all people. (Titus 2:11)
It teaches us to say “No” to ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright and godly lives in this present age.
From the start of Jesus ministry right to the present day one constant and very clear message of Jesus has been the need for repentance.
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (Matthew 4:17c)
“Consider how far you have fallen! Repent and do the things you did at first. If you do not repent, I will come to you and remove your lampstand from its place” (Rev 2:5)
“Repent therefore! Otherwise, I will soon come to you and will fight against them with the sword of My mouth.” (Rev 2:16)
“Remember, therefore, what you have received and heard; hold it fast, and repent.” (Rev 3:5)
“I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm – neither hot nor cold – I am about to spit you out of My mouth.” (Rev 3:15-16)
Other verses that speak strongly of the need (and ongoing need) of repentance: Matthew 3:2 ; Matthew 4:17c ; Luke 13:5 ; Acts 2:38 ; Acts 3:26 ; Acts 11:18 ; Acts 13::24 ; Acts 17:30 ; Acts 20:20-21 ; Acts 26:20
If God wanted us to compromise then the Bible would have been a tiny paragraph that said: ‘do what you want, there is no consequence’
Remember Jesus said to the woman caught in adultery: “Go and sin no more” or as another translation puts it: “Go now and leave your life of sin.” (John 8:11)
